1. Your use of OpenSeat

While OpenSeat offers virtual wellness coaching to school-aged children, this Site is intended for use by individuals 13 years of age or older. If you are under age 13, ask a school leader, parent, or guardian to assist you in signing up for virtual wellness coaching through this Site.

2. Information We Collect

As a general policy, no personally identifiable information, such as your name, address, or email address, is automatically collected from your visit to the Site.

When you sign up, we request your name, email address, and school.

Once students have received access to OpenSeat virtual wellness coaching, with the consent of a parent or guardian, they will be able to book coaching sessions. Student and/or parent contact information may be gathered as part of the booking process. That information will only be used for booking purposes.

Certain non-personal information is automatically recorded by the standard operation of OpenSeat’s internet servers. Information such as the type of browser being used, its operating system, and your IP address is gathered in order to enhance your online experience.

The Site’s various mailing lists, downloads, special offers, contests, registration forms, and surveys may request that you give us contact information such as your name, mailing and/or email address, demographic information such as your age and gender, and personal preference information such as your preferred software and interests.

3. How We Use Your Information

How the information gathered by coaches and school administrators is used is governed by federal and state law and described in consent forms provided to students’ parents and guardians. OpenSeat coaches may share information with school-based staff working with participating students to better assist them. Coaches are required by law to share information with parents or others in certain circumstances: 1) If a student shows risk of suicidal behavior, 2) If a student intends to do serious bodily harm to themselves or another person, or 3) If there is reason to suspect abuse or neglect.

Information submitted at the time of submission will be used by OpenSeat only as necessary for our legitimate business interests. This includes providing the services, communicating with you, and diagnosing and resolving website or other problems with the services.

None of the information gathered through this website or wellness coaching will be shared with other organizations for business or marketing purposes.

OpenSeat may disclose user information in special cases when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interference (either intentionally or unintentionally) with OpenSeat’s rights or property, other users of the Site, or anyone else that could be harmed by such activities.

OpenSeat may also be required to disclose personal information in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.
